The Knight Commander of the Court of Honour recognizes Sublime Princes of the Royal Secret whose service, leadership, and dedication have distinguished them within the Scottish Rite and the wider community.

The Honour Defined
A Brother may not request the K.C.C.H. It is bestowed exclusively through nomination, recommendation, and approval by the United Supreme Council. Per U.S.C., 33° rules, a self-request results in automatic refusal.
The K.C.C.H. is an investiture conferred upon deserving Brethren — a formal recognition of honor, character, and service bestowed by the United Supreme Council.
Favorable nominees have demonstrated meaningful service to Scottish Rite Masonry, to the wider community, or to civic life — action whose sole purpose is to serve.
K.C.C.H. is not a degree within the 33 Degrees of the Scottish Rite. It does not authorize any extra rights or privileges — it is an investiture of honour.

Illustrious James D. Cole, 33°, Sovereign Grand Commander of the Southern Jurisdiction, bestowed the Honorary Knight Commander of the Court of Honour upon Illustrious Melvin J. Bazemore, 33°, Sovereign Grand Commander — in token of friendship, Masonic unity, and brotherly love — and authorized the United Supreme Council, Northern Jurisdiction, to begin conferring this distinction.

The United Supreme Council began investing selected and approved Sublime Princes of the Royal Secret, 32°, with the distinction of Knight Commander of the Court of Honour at the first formal Investiture Ceremony, held on the Friday Evening of the Annual Session.

Future Investitures of the K.C.C.H. will be conducted at subsequent Triennial Sessions of the United Supreme Council, continuing the tradition of recognizing Sublime Princes who have distinguished themselves through exceptional service.
The Regalia of Honour
The distinctive regalia of a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour is the red cap — made of rich red fabric with a dark red band, trimmed in antique gold, with a gold cord extending across the top.
The K.C.C.H. Jewel
In the center front is a representation of the Knight Commander jewel — a Passion Cross with fancy arms, featuring in the center a trefoil embroidered in green, encircled by “Kt. Commander Court of Honour” embroidered in gold.
The Path to Investiture
Important: K.C.C.H. may not be self-requested. The honor is bestowed exclusively through recommendation and approval by the United Supreme Council. A request from the prospective member himself is grounds for automatic refusal.

Must be a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret, 32°, with a minimum of two years of continued membership in the Consistory, having demonstrated exceptional service to the Scottish Rite or community.

The Brother is identified by a K.C.C.H. / 33° member who recognizes his service. A Brother may not request the K.C.C.H. — self-request results in automatic refusal.

The recommending K.C.C.H. member submits a formal recommendation to the Deputy for the Orient on behalf of the nominee.

Once nominated, the nominee completes the K.C.C.H. petition and submits required fees (32°: $500 / 33°: $350) to the Deputy for the Orient or designee by the petition deadline.

The petition is reviewed and overall approval is granted by the United Supreme Council, 33°.

Approved Brethren are invested at the Investiture Ceremony, held on the Friday Evening of the U.S.C. Annual Session. Annual Session registration fees apply separately from Investiture fees.
